The aim of the article is to analyze the image of Poland on Russian state television in the context of the introduction of a new decommunization law in Poland. The subjects of qualitative analysis are Russian information and journalistic programs devoted to the demolition of Soviet soldiers' monuments in Poland. The author hypothesizes about a change in the provision of information and sharpening media narrative. The application of the content analysis of the presenters and guests' statements made it possible to obtain an answer on Poland's image and current level of political and social talk shows. Selected programs deal not only with the demolition of monuments to Soviet soldiers but are also devoted to current Russian-Polish political relations. The conclusions that can be drawn from the analysis of the programs indicate a significant increase in anti-Polish sentiments, intensified by the leading journalists. Political talk show programs spread a negative and biased picture of Poland in Russian society.

Przedmiotem analizy jakościowej są rosyjskie programy informacyjno-publicystyczne poświęcone rozbiórce pomników żołnierzy radzieckich w Polsce. Autorka stawia hipotezę o zmianie w przekazywaniu informacji i zaostrzeniu narracji medialnej. Zastosowanie analizy zawartości wypowiedzi prowadzących i gości pozwoliła na uzyskanie odpowiedzi na temat obrazu Polski i obecnego poziomu programów telewizyjnych talk show o charakterze polityczno-społecznym. Wybrane programy traktują nie tylko o rozbiórce pomników żołnierzy radzieckich, lecz także poświęcone są obecnym relacjom politycznym rosyjsko-polskim. Wnioski, które można wyciągnąć z analizy programów to znaczny wzrost nastrojów antypolskich, które wzmagają prowadzący dziennikarze. Programy typu polityczne talk show rozpowszechniają w społeczeństwie rosyjskim negatywny i stronniczy obraz Polski.

Background: The 70th anniversary of the North Atlantic Pact became an impulse to write the article – to discuss the manner in which the topic was presented on Russian public television. Objectives: The aim of the article is to reconstruct NATO's image (the military organization associating twenty-nine countries of Europe and North America) on channel Russia-1 in connection with the seventieth anniversary of the Pact, celebrated on 4 April 2019.
Methods: The research materials are analytical programmes and political talk shows broadcast in March and April 2019. A content analysis method was used to examine the programmes. Results: Examination of the programmes showed that Russian public television is a mirror image of the state policy. Conclusions: Russian public state television channel Russia-1 presents a coherent narrative image of NATO regardless of the genre formula of the programme. NATO, in the assessment of selected TV programmes, is clearly viewed as an aggressive organization, encroaching closer on the borders of Russia.

Status of Russian journalism Being a journalist in Russia during the USRR meant highly reputable but as well partly dependency work. After the collapse of the Soviet Union the situation on media market has changed especially situation on freedom of speech. But in 1993 the process of glasnost ended and the media went back to serve the interests of their owners. On the other hand it was a good time for valuable television programs and in‑depth press analyses. With the beginning of Putin's presidency everything has changed on Russian media market. The 2000's have seen a resurgence of the Soviet media system. Current Russian journalism is weak, we can observe a very negative tendencies like increasing state control over media, buying up nearly all independent media and increasing self‑censorship. An analytical function of media as well as critical view has moved to marginal position. Violence against journalists takes various forms including threats, physical assaults and murders. Russian media is not politically free and young generation of journalists does not want to criticize the political authority. No wonder that Committee to Protect Journalists called Russia was one of the deadliest countries in the world for journalists.

The paper sheds new light on the Russian Federation's economic security problem in the face of sanctions and changing geopolitical balance in Central Asia. The novelty of the research perspective and, subsequently, the results and conclusions are expressed by combining an economic perspective with a cultural-political and media-centered approach. There were analysed the range of Russo-Iranian economic cooperation, the factors that make Iran a prospective partner for Russia and the role of the Russian media in shaping the picture of friendly future in bilateral relations. The conclusions are that the Russian "turn to the South" – towards Iran – was provoked not only by the sanctions imposed which decreased the economic security level but it also resulted from the previously established patterns of the Russian foreign policy.
